God Had a Plan For Me
I was introduced to Hope Newcastle when I first arrived in January 2014 and they invited me to
Hope Fest, which is Hope UK's annual Easter Camp. On the second night of the camp, God revealed Himself
to me and I accepted Him into my life as He saved me from wandering nonsensically in this world. I
decided to get baptised the day after.
God has always wanted to be with us and He will do anything for us to come to Him. But it is up to us to decide on whether to respond to His grace.
Church As a Family
It wasn’t easy journeying in faith in this world, especially over the four years I spent at
university. There were many, many temptations and distractions. My faith wavered at times but God seemed to
know that and has put me in a loving church. Not one that allows me to live a compromising life, but a
church that is filled with loving acceptance and accountability. They pick me up when I’m falling,
correct me when I’m wrong, and disciple me as I continue to be renewed by God.
Now, I’ve graduated not just with a piece of paper, but a new family, brothers and sisters whom
I know I can always share my life with and to rely on.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35 (NIV)
